March Rug

Hello everyone!

I have been busy working on my rug on a loom. This has been such a fun project as you can use old sheets to make a beautiful, functional rug.  This one ended up in my laundry room.  My daughters have put in their order for one, so I will be making another one with old crib sheets.

Below is my rug before coming off the loom...

The nearby Birch River is beautiful and March green...

Arabelle found some beaver activity. We also discovered that the geese are back. We have two that make an annual trip at nesting time.
Spring is near!

Hope you are enjoying March!

Rug on a Loom

Hello everyone!

It has been a cold, snowy day here. The perfect day to start on my rug on a loom. This is such a fun project for anyone who likes to take rags and turn them into something beautiful. I will be excited to complete this project, so I  can start on another rug with different rags. A home in the country needs lots of rugs (and rags)!

My amaryllis is starting to bloom in the sun room! I will be happy to get some good pictures of it with my good camera when it blooms...

My geraniums are starting to wake up again...

Such a beautiful sky this evening...

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

From the Garden

Hello everyone!

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's weekend. I am sharing some garden photos again today as I am having technical difficulties getting new pictures off my camera. Hopefully, my husband can help me with this soon.
This past weekend we enjoyed a trip to Roanoke, Virginia to see Wilco in concert. We took my niece with us and she seemed to love the music. This was my seventh Wilco concert, and I do believe they keep getting better. If you haven't heard of Wilco, I would highly recommend looking them up. You won't regret it!

We have had lots of snow and ice here, so it is nice to look back on the garden...

Hostas are so easy to grow in the shade!

Here is a Spring bouquet for you. After all, it won't be long! I am ready to pick from my garden instead of the super market.

Birch River in Winter

Hello everyone!

I hope you are having a wonderful week and staying warm!
It has been cold here. I have enjoyed the ice-covered Birch River and Wolfpen Run below our home.

The old punch mines below our house are decorated with icicles..

Remember, Love is all you need!

Happy Friday to you!

Purples in the Garden

Hello everyone!

It has been a snowy day here, so I guess we will have more winter after all.  We went out to eat this evening and the roads were slick and icy on the way home.  I do love snow, but not driving in it.
I thought I would share some garden purples with you. It is nice to dream of green when it is cozy inside and cold outside. Although, I do love snow!
