Dreams of Spring

Hello everyone! 

I have some wonderful snow pictures for you, but I thought you might want some flowers instead. We had about 20 inches of snow here from snow storm,Jonas.  It is a beautiful, deep snowfall. The kids have loved playing in it!

In case, you are tired of seeing white, I thought I would share some of my Spring flowers with you...

Winter White

Hello everyone! 

We are getting quite a lot of snow here.  We finished our home school week, and the kids are happy to have snow for the weekend.  I baked some cookies and gathered the quilts. So far, we have had no power outages!

Snow Day!

Hello everyone!

It has snowed on and off for most of the day.  A winter white has touched the landscape. So pretty. It has been a peaceful day of homeschooling, arts and crafts, and tea. The girls have started early on their valentines and Thomas has been busy making snowflakes.

My Christmas wreath still looks pretty with the snow...

My feeders have been busy today...

Snowflakes and Valentines decorate our inside clothesline...

Wolfpen in Winter

Hello everyone!

 Winter has finally begun after a very warm December. This morning we woke to a high of 5 degrees! The ducks were the only brave souls out there, even the local school were delayed two hours. We have a heavy snow expected for Friday, which excites everyone here. 

This morning I enjoyed a brisk walk along Wolfpen and up to our pond.  There is something inspiring about the snow and a new year of gardening...

Garden Planning

Hello everyone!

 I hope your week is off to a good start. This week brings lots of excitement as my sister is due to have a baby soon. Also, we are grateful to say good-bye to the stomach flu that hit our home last week. 

Now, it is time to dream and plan for the new gardening season...breaking out some old photos always helps build excitement...

This is my upper driveway garden. It took many years moving the lamb's ear that edges the bed on this steep slope. I also have purple irises in this garden....and always lots of daffodils...

Spring is like Christmas to a gardener...

I was amazed by this daffodil flower. Doesn't it look like a trillium? Oh, the surprises in Spring!!

I found this old photo of our cat as a kitten. Another joy of Spring---new life! I am really looking forward to meeting my new niece soon!
